Dmitri's enthralling sojourn into the world of wine commenced with his birth into the industry in Moldova, an economically modest yet viticulturally rich Eastern European country. From a tender age, Dmitri immersed himself in the intricate art of winemaking, working diligently at his father's winery and gaining a profound appreciation for the dedication woven into each bottle of quality wine. It wasn't long before Dmitri, in his late teenage years, realized that no other industry could captivate his dedication as fervently as the world of wine. Simultaneously, his insatiable thirst for knowledge and experience propelled him across continents to Australia.

At the age of 17, Dmitri left the comforts of home, venturing to Adelaide to pursue formal winemaking and wine business studies at the esteemed University of Adelaide. Two decades unfolded, marked by two university degrees, numerous vintages spanning the globe and returning to Australia, where Dmitri played a pivotal role in the success of SOUMAH. Finally, after this extensive journey, Dmitri decided to distill all his wisdom and passion into something uniquely his own. And so, Clowns in the Rain was born – a culmination of decades of experience, a love for the craft, and an unwavering commitment to producing exceptional wines
